Lesson 2: Archetypes & Rasa Four

The Creator archetype

This aspect of Kuśmaṇḍā is associated with the creative power of the Divine Mother. She is believed to have created the universe by emitting a cosmic egg from her womb, which expanded to form the universe, and Kuśmaṇḍā became its sustainer

The Jester archetype

The Jester brings laughter and levity, reminding us not to take life too seriously and to find joy in the present moment. Kuśmaṇḍā’s blessings are said to bring prosperity and abundance, and her very name means “the one who created the universe by her laugh.”

The Muse archetype

The Muse is the embodiment of inspiration and creativity, and her presence encourages artistic expression and the pursuit of beauty. Similarly, Kuśmaṇḍā’s creative power inspires artistic endeavors and her blessings are sought by artists, writers, and musicians seeking inspiration.

Hāsya Rasa

Hāsya rasa, which is associated with humor and laughter, can be associated with the Kuśmaṇḍā archetype due to her playful and cheerful nature. Kuśmaṇḍā is often depicted with a smile on her face and is said to be the source of all creation, bringing joy and abundance to the world. Her association with the color orange, which is also associated with joy and enthusiasm, further reinforces her connection to the Hasya rasa.
