The Blissfulness Meditation technique was developed in India 2800 years ago by meditators and seers of the Vedic era. Now rediscovered by science, it’s a great way to practice mindfulness and calm your mind, while helping you cultivate better sleep, energy levels, and staying focused on the present moment.
In 2010 where a team led by Harvard-affiliated researchers at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) proved beyond doubt through magnetic resonance image (MRI) scans that meditation physically alters the structure of the brain to increase learning, focus and memory, and shrinks the parts of the brain related to stress and anxiety.
The earliest mention of meditation in human history is in the text called the Chāndogya Upanisad, composed around 800 BCE. The text even goes on to outline the practice. It has also been referenced in other Upanishads. Claimed to be the highest form of meditation according to several Smritis and Puranas.
