This is a lab notebook. A place to record the raw ideas from the experiment of the next four weeks. Nothing more.

Here’s how we keep the place from becoming a junk drawer:

  • Start a new topic for each week’s notes.

  • Title it: Week 1 - A Title of Your Choosing

  • Tag it with the week number (Week 1, Week 2, etc.).

Don’t write an essay. Don’t theorize. Just report from the front lines. If it’s confusing, write that. If it’s boring, write that. If you find yourself writing something that sounds polished and insightful for an imaginary audience, stop. Delete it. Write what was happening right before you start thinking of what the reader will think. That’s the signal.

You don’t have to reply to anyone.

Silence is a perfectly acceptable response here. Most of the time, it's the best one. If you feel an absolute compulsion to respond, don’t give advice. Don’t fix. Don't offer a better-sounding story. A simple acknowledgment or insight is enough.

The whole point is to catch the voice in the head in the act. These posts are just field notes on that broadcast. It’s not about getting it right. It’s about getting it down.

Post when you have something to document. Read when you have the capacity. Let the rest be quiet.
