Lesson 2: Archetypes & Rasa Eight

The Herald archetype

This archetype represents the eternal spring of non-dual wisdom and the revealer of truth. From the ancient Shakta philosophy, she is the one who brings life-changing non-dual secrets that reveal the ultimate truth. The Herald is seen as the inner voice and the call to adventure. The Herald invites us to seek ultimate wisdom and to actualize it for ourselves.

The Purifier archetype

The Purifier purifies the mind of impurities to realize the ultimate truth. Mahāgaurī is seen as the revelation that leads to the realization of the present moment’s completeness. The Purifier invites us to recognize the divinity and completeness of the present moment and purify our mind of impurities that hinder us from realizing it.

The Magician archetype

The Magician is the wondrous and magical one who can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Mahāgaurī is seen as the Magician as the ability to see the magic and divinity in the world and in ourselves, leading to the creation of a life of wonder and enchantment. The Magician invites us to see beyond the veil of conditioned familiarity and see the world and ourselves in a new light, making new choices, and creating new realities.

Āḍbhuta

Mahāgaurī evokes the energy of āḍbhuta, the sense of wonder and awe that arises when we encounter something sublime or transcendent. Her luminous, pure nature inspires us to contemplate the mysteries of existence and connect with the divine, and her story reminds us that we too can achieve spiritual transformation and awakening. By meditating on Mahāgaurī’s energy and cultivating a sense of wonder and awe, we can deepen our spiritual practice and experience the fullness of our own divine nature.
